Orders
Thank you so much for your interest in our products. At The Wolf and The Dog Leather Co., we don't rush perfection. Each item is meticulously crafted and hand-stitched for enduring strength and character. We ask for up to 3 weeks from the time you place your order to the time it will ship. This allows us to ensure every piece is carefully inspected and meets our high standards before leaving our workshop.
For custom orders and personalized variations, crafting time will lengthen depending on the complexity of your request. All custom orders will require a deposit before work can begin. If you are interested in a personalized piece or have specific ideas in mind, please reach out using our 'Contact Us' form. Let us know what you're thinking – it may or may not be feasible, but it never hurts to ask!

Our Promise & Your Returns
At The Wolf and The Dog Leather Co., every piece of leather is a testament to honest craftsmanship and enduring quality. We pour our skill and care into each stitch, aiming for a product that not only stands the test of time but also truly satisfies you. While we don't rush perfection in crafting your item, please review our policy below regarding returns.
Standard Item Policy
Please choose your standard (non-customized) items carefully. We do not accept returns or offer refunds for buyer's remorse, incorrect choices, or if the item simply doesn't meet an expectation beyond what was accurately described. All sales of standard items are considered final.
Important: Non-Returnable Items
Due to their personalized nature and the dedication involved in their creation, the following items are final sale and not eligible for return or exchange:
Custom-made or Personalized Items: Each custom piece is forged specifically for your unique vision, making it truly one-of-a-kind. These items are a direct reflection of your unique request and are crafted with materials and artistry chosen just for you, thus they cannot be returned.
Items explicitly marked as "Final Sale" (e.g., clearance items).
Please also note that the rich, unique character of full-grain leather, with its natural variations in grain, subtle color shifts, or minor markings, is what makes your item truly one-of-a-kind. These are hallmarks of authenticity and craftsmanship, not defects.
Damaged or Defective Items
In the rare event that your handcrafted item arrives damaged or you believe it has a manufacturing defect, please contact us immediately at contact@thewolfandthedogleatherco.com within 3 calendar days of delivery. Please include clear photos of the issue. We will swiftly work with you to find the best solution, which may include a replacement, repair, or full refund, and we will cover any associated return shipping costs for confirmed damaged or defective items

Lifetime Stitching Warranty
At The Wolf and The Dog Leather Co., we don't just make leather goods; we build gear for the long haul. We use the world's toughest threads and traditional saddle-stitching techniques designed to survive the trail, the workshop, and everywhere in between.
Our Promise
We stand behind every stitch. If the thread on your gear ever snaps, unravels, or fails due to a defect in craftsmanship, we will restitch it for you free of charge for as long as you own it.
The Saddle-Stitch Advantage: Unlike machine-sewn products that use a "lock-stitch" (where one broken thread can cause the entire seam to unzip), our gear is hand-stitched using the traditional saddle-stitch. This method uses two independent needles and a single thread that crosses itself in every hole. Even if a thread were to break, the rest of the seam remains locked in place and fully functional.
The Repair Process
1. The Report: Send a photo of the failure to contact@thewolfandthedogleatherco.com.
2. The Assessment: We’ll verify the damage and confirm it’s a stitching issue.
3. The Restoration: Once approved, ship the item back to our workshop. We’ll break out the needles, restore the seam to its original strength, and get it back in your hands.
What’s Covered
Blown Seams: Thread failure from heavy, honest use (includes the main frame and all internal construction/pockets).
Stress Points: Failure at critical weight-bearing points or hardware attachments.
Thread Failure: Stitching that has unraveled due to a break in the thread.
Maintenance vs. Failure
Leather gear is rugged, and over time, you may notice minor cosmetic "fuzz" or pilling on the thread. Insignificant fraying that does not affect the strength of the seam is considered normal wear.
* Pro Tip: If you see a tiny loose fiber, a quick, careful pass with a lighter will usually singe it down and seal it. If you aren't sure, send us a photo and we’ll let you know if it’s a "battle scar" or a real issue.
The Limits of the Trail
While our stitching is legendary, this warranty does not cover:
Leather Battle Scars: Natural scuffs, scratches, or the evolution of the patina.
Neglect & Rot: Damage from lack of conditioning, mold, or exposure to harsh chemicals.
Hard Abuse: Cuts from knives, burns, or intentional destruction of the leather or thread.
Outside Work: Any repairs or "hacks" performed by anyone other than The Wolf and The Dog Leather Co.
Note: You are responsible for getting the gear to our shop. We’ll cover the labor of the repair and the shipping back to your door.

Customization
CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS
Make it yours. In our San Diego workshop, we offer several ways to personalize your gear to match your journey.
1. The Thread (The Lifeline)
We use heavy-duty waxed poly-thread, hand-saddle stitched for maximum durability. Because we maintain a wide variety of colors in the shop, we can match almost any aesthetic you're looking for.
Choose Your Color: From traditional earth tones to vibrant pops of color, the choice is yours.
How to Select: Navigate to the “contact” section and message us to discuss the specific color you have in mind for your build, and I will confirm availability.
2. The Edge Paint (Superior Bonded Finish for Chrome Tan Leather)
We utilize different finishing techniques depending on the type of leather to ensure the highest quality result. Our standard approach is to burnish our Vegetable Tan (Veg Tan) leather and edge paint our Chrome Tan leather. While we can edge paint Veg Tan upon request, we highly recommend this bonded paint process for our Chrome Tan pieces and traditional burnishing for Veg Tan.
Our Process: For Chrome Tan hides like Crazy Horse, we use a specialized multi-stage finishing process. We start by carefully stripping the surface oils from the edge to ensure maximum adhesion. We then apply a technical basecoat to seal the fibers and provide a smooth foundation before finishing with multiple layers of professional-grade edge paint. This creates a clean, refined look that is built to withstand the friction of daily carry.
Choose Your Color: We maintain a diverse palette of colors to complement or contrast your leather choice.
How to Select: Navigate to the “contact” section and message us to discuss the specific color you have in mind for your build, and I will confirm availability.
3. The Theme Stamps
Our wallets currently feature specific themed stamps (such as the Horseman or the Acorn) rather than a standard shop logo. You can choose how these are applied:
Themed Stamp: Include the specific hand-stamped artwork associated with this design.
Clean (No Stamp): A completely sterile exterior for a minimalist, unbranded look.
4. The Corner Profile
The silhouette of your gear changes the way it feels in your hand and sits in your pocket. We offer two distinct corner styles:
Slightly Rounded: A sharper, more architectural look. These corners provide a modern, "crisp" aesthetic while removing the harsh points that typically dig into pockets.
Rounded: A classic, smooth radius. This style offers a traditional, ergonomic feel, creating a seamless flow that minimizes pocket snag and provides a comfortable, timeless silhouette.
How to Select: Like our colors, simply message me with your preference.
(Note: Every corner is hand-sanded and finished using our technical edge-painting or burnishing process to ensure a smooth, snag-free transition.)
COMING IN JANUARY 2026
We are excited to announce that starting in January 2026, we will be expanding our shop to include:
Personalized Stamping: Custom initials, names, or significant dates (letters and numbers) stamped directly into the leather.
Hot Foil Stamping: Premium gold, silver, or copper foil options applied to your choice of custom letters or numbers for a striking, high-end finish.
HOW TO ORDER A CUSTOM PIECE
To ensure every detail of your build is perfect, we handle customizations through a direct process:
Contact: Navigate to the “contact” section and message us to discuss the specific color you have in mind for your build, and I will confirm availability. Reach out with the specific product you want and the customizations you are looking for (Thread, Edge Paint, and Stamp preference).
Custom Listing: I will create a dedicated custom product listing for your specific build and send you the link to complete your purchase.
Lead Time: Custom projects require an additional 2-4 weeks for production depending on our current workload. We always do our best to keep this wait time as short as possible while maintaining our quality standards.
I will personally confirm all specifications with you before I begin cutting the leather.
